Ivy Tech Community College Central

Ivy Tech Community College Central is a culinary school located in the United States. The school is part of Ivy Tech Community College, which is the largest singly-accredited statewide community college system in the United States. The Central campus is located in Indianapolis, Indiana and offers a variety of culinary programs for students to choose from. These programs range from one-year certificates to two-year associate degrees. The culinary program at Ivy Tech Community College Central is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to enter the culinary industry as entry-level cooks or to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. The curriculum is hands-on and focuses on both the technical skills and the creative side of cooking. Students will learn about the history and culture of food, kitchen safety and sanitation, menu planning, and cost control. They will also gain experience working in a variety of kitchen settings, including fine dining, catering, and food service. Upon graduation, students will be prepared to take the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification exam. Additionally, the school has partnerships with industry professionals, which helps the students to get an internships and get a job after the completion of the program.
